Through the Community Outreach Initiative of Otemu Educational Foundation (OEF), 12 young beneficiaries stepped beyond the classroom and into real-world leadership. Across diverse communities, they identified local challenges and took action by delivering academic support, mentorship, environmental sanitation, and awareness campaigns rooted in practical solutions. Captured in these moments are stories of courage, creativity, and service. From revitalising learning spaces through simple beautification to engaging directly with community members, the beneficiaries created visible change while undergoing a powerful shift within. They emerged more confident, self-aware, and equipped with the leadership mindset needed for sustainable impact, proving that meaningful change begins when young people are trusted not only to learn, but to lead.
The Otemu Educational Foundation proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of the 13 beneficiaries of its maiden Scholarship Programme, who successfully matriculated into Western Delta University, Oghara, on Friday, 6th February 2026. Their matriculation ceremony held at the university’s permanent site, marks a powerful milestone not just for the students, but for the Foundation’s mission to expand access to quality education. These scholars have demonstrated resilience, promise, and determination, and we congratulate them as they begin this exciting new chapter in their academic journey.
The Otemu Educational Foundation kicked off 2026 with an energetic statewide awareness campaign for its Season 2 Scholarship Programme, visiting schools across Delta State between January and February. Beginning in Asaba and extending through Ozoro, Warri, Effurun, Agbarho, Ubulu Okiti, Ibusa and surrounding communities, the team engaged students with information about scholarship opportunities designed to support indigent learners. From Model Technical College (Asaba) to Notre Dame College (Ozoro), Nana Model College (Warri), Urhobo College (Effurun), and many others, the Foundation’s presence sparked excitement and hope among learners eager for educational support. With a target of visiting at least five schools per LGA across all 25 LGAs, the Season 2 campaign reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and empowering the next generation.
